Georgia CTI Board Retreat Successfully Sets the Stage for 2024-2025 School Year

St. Simon's Island, GA – June 3-5, 2024– The Georgia Career and Technical Instruction (CTI) program's Board of Directors, led by Executive Director Mary Davis Donahue, gathered for a productive retreat at St. Simon's Island to plan and prepare for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

The retreat focused on several key topics crucial to the success and growth of Georgia CTI. These included child safeguarding, critical incident training, budget planning, event scheduling for 2024-2025, teacher professional development opportunities, updates from the Georgia Department of Education, and preparing a comprehensive social media calendar.

Each day of the retreat was a blend of hard work, collaboration, and strategic planning, all set against the beautiful backdrop of St. Simon's Island. The board members engaged in thoughtful discussions and planning sessions, ensuring that all aspects of the upcoming year were meticulously addressed.

"We are committed to providing our students and educators with the resources and support they need to succeed," said Mary Davis Donahue. "This retreat was an excellent opportunity for our board to come together, share ideas, and develop a clear and focused plan for the year ahead."

In addition to the rigorous agenda, the retreat also provided moments of camaraderie and enjoyment. Attendees relished delicious meals, shared laughter, and celebrated the progress made over the three days.

With a solid plan in place, Georgia CTI is poised for another year of empowering students, fostering professional growth among educators, and making a significant impact in the field of career and technical education.
