Georgia CTI Students Explore Career Pathways During GVRA Day at the Fair

October 3, 2025- Nearly 800 students took a bold step toward their future during the 2025 GVRA Day at the Fair, held October 3 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds—including 341 students from Georgia Career and Technical Instruction (CTI). The day offered hands-on learning experiences, career exploration, and meaningful connections with professionals who help Georgians prepare for employment success.

Through a dynamic “passport” scavenger hunt, students explored career pathways in agriculture, architecture, and veterinary science—gaining new insights into fields they may not have considered before. Participants met veterinarians from the University of Georgia and Mercer University, and heard from inspiring speakers including Teirameka Haynes from Central Georgia Technical College, Kaitlin Good from the Department of Natural Resources, and Dr. Michael Martin from the UGA Extension. These presenters encouraged students to pursue education and career opportunities that align with their passions and strengths.

In addition to learning about postsecondary and career options, students discovered valuable resources and services offered by the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA), which supports Georgians with disabilities in preparing for and achieving meaningful employment.

After completing their passport challenges, students enjoyed all the excitement of the Georgia National Fair—rides, games, food, and entertainment—while networking with CTI peers from across the state.

Georgia CTI extends sincere thanks to GVRA for sponsoring this impactful day of inspiration, exploration, and empowerment. We are also deeply grateful to the teachers, volunteers, paraprofessionals, and bus drivers who make these experiences possible and ensure our students’ safety and success.
