Georgia CTI Board of Directors Meets for Annual Training and Planning Retreat

2026-27 Georgia CTI Board of Directors

JEKYLL ISLAND, GA - The Georgia CTI Board of Directors recently gathered on Jekyll Island for its annual Board Training, bringing together board members, leadership staff, and organizational leaders from across the state to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The multi-day retreat provides an opportunity for Georgia CTI leaders to evaluate current programs, review organizational goals, discuss emerging needs, and develop plans that will strengthen opportunities for students and advisers throughout the coming year.

Throughout the retreat, board members participated in strategic planning sessions focused on leadership development, student engagement, competitive events, conferences, and organizational growth. Discussions centered on identifying ways to enhance programs, expand opportunities, and continue meeting the evolving needs of students with disabilities across Georgia.

In addition to planning for upcoming events and initiatives, the retreat allowed board members to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen relationships with fellow leaders. These conversations help ensure that decisions are guided by the experiences and expertise of educators and professionals who work directly with students and advisers throughout the state.

The Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding Georgia CTI's mission of preparing students for successful transitions to employment, postsecondary education, and independent living. Through careful planning and collaboration, board members help ensure that students continue to receive meaningful opportunities to develop leadership, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, and career exploration skills.

The annual training serves as an important opportunity for Georgia CTI leaders to look ahead, identify areas for growth, and make decisions that will support students and advisers in the year to come.

Georgia CTI extends its appreciation to the Board of Directors for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to continuously strengthening the organization and expanding opportunities for students across Georgia.
